As I sat at my desk a couple weeks ago scrolling through Facebook after posting on my page, it occurred to me just how many female friends/acquaintances I have in or around Geneseo that own/operate their own business. I have to say it makes my heart incredibly happy. Some of them mamas juggling family life along with business, some married without children, some single... whatever their story, strong, amazing women providing affordable services/goods to our community.
As a small business owner myself, I know what goes into managing all the things and how each & every business is different & unique. I know the importance of shopping locally and supporting the small business owner. That small business owner is someone, too. They have goods/services to offer us that are equal to or better to those we can find elsewhere, right here in our very own community. How fortunate are we to have such services & these women, and more importantly... let's be sure we are supporting them!
March is Women's History Month and what better way to highlight these amazing women/businesses than a post about them and the services they provide. Sure we may not be forging ahead the way some of those amazing women in history have before us, but it is because of those women that we are able to do what we are doing.
